First Visit Examination Process

Welcome!

At Arise, we want you to feel at home when you walk in the door, especially on your first visit. Since chiropractic care involves a series of visits, each one building on the previous one, it is important for you to feel comfortable right from the start when visiting our office. Here are things of what you should expect on your first visit.

Paperwork/ Insurance Verification

Please bring your paperwork (which you can find under the “Online Forms” at the top of the website), ID, and insurance card. Our staff will be more than happy to verify your insurance benefits/ coverage.

Educational Office Tour

Before the exam begins, you will be given a brief tour of the office to feel more at home and learn more about our chiropractic care services.

Health Consultation

Dr. Cortner will discuss relevant details of your health history in order to gather a complete picture of your current health condition. Questions may include prior injuries, habits, medications, and other life stresses. Some of the questions she may ask will take you back several years, as this is when many structural problems begin.

Neurological Examinations

The examination process typically includes a digital nerve analysis, posture assessment, range-of-motion, orthopedic and neurological exam, and x-rays if necessary. During the examination process, Dr. Cortner will explain what she is seeing and may ask additional questions depending on exam findings. Following your first visit, Dr. Cortner will review your exam findings to determine what kind of chiropractic care your body needs to heal.

Second Visit Adjustment

Before the doctor adjusts you for the first time, she will briefly explain to you what she found on your x-rays and nerve analysis scan. The chiropractic adjustment realigns the spine into its proper position so that your body can function optimally. By this very first adjustment, Dr. Cortner will be able to better identify how your body responds to treatment and will then determine treatment options based off the results of both the first and second visit.

Report of Findings

On this visit, Dr. Cortner will provide a detailed review of your examinations, recovery timeline, and cost of care (including insurance coverage). This is where the real healing begins with Cumming Chiropractic, GA.
